REMINDER: Big Ideas Quiz (Wednesday, November 20)
Task: For these “big idea” topics, write a detailed paragraph that clearly answers each question. Include relevant examples from history, logical reasoning and explanation.
Questions: (10 marks each)
1. Identify and discuss the social, economic and political conditions within France that led to the French Revolution.
2. How did the ideas of the Enlightenment (i.e. humanism, democracy, rights), the influence of Philosophers, and the success of the American Revolution and English Civil War help to drive the desire for change and revolution in France?
3. During the French Revolution, the people experimented with several forms of government, as proposed by these political clubs: Jacobins, Girondists, and Royalists. Outline the style of government that each of these clubs wanted for France. Discuss their methods for achieving their goals.
