CONTINUITY OF LEARNING UPDATE

Google Classroom

Hi folks. If you haven’t already done so, please check your gedu emails. Some of you will have received an invitation to join our google classroom (this is the case for my Daily Math 8 students). There may be others who’ve recently joined my class who will also need to be added to the google classroom. If you need me to add you, send me an email and I will reply with the classroom activation code. My email is: wmueller@sd73.bc.ca.

As you may have noticed, many assignments are now up and active on our google classroom sites. You can now access most activities. Please read through assignment/project descriptions carefully and make sure you understand the criteria. Also, be sure you access any accompanying documents attached, as these will very often be instrumental in your understanding or provided necessary foundation knowledge/skills.

No Tech?

If you DO NOT have access to an internet-connected computer at home, you will need to arrange to pick up a work package from school. Please call the office at 250-376-1232. I am in the process of putting together these packages now, but they should be available later this week. If possible, it would be preferable to work from google classroom, so if arrangements can be made to access the internet, borrow a computer, etc., please do so.

CONTINUITY OF LEARNING UPDATE

This week, parents are being contacted to determine their technological capacities to support online learning at home. Once we know more, we will be able to move forward with a plan to transition from face-to-face learning to online formats.

For my classes, most of the learning will take place via google classroom (with a few exceptions), so students, please stay-tuned over the next several weeks for updates. I will be posting assignments/projects to our google classroom, complete with directions, criteria, assessment rubrics, and all necessary learning resources. I intend to establish a regularly scheduled “office hour” where students can connect with me to get help with work, ask questions, troubleshoot problems, etc. The platform for such “meetings” is yet to be determined. More updates to come…
